Relay for Life: Every other Friday from 1-2 pm in Pub 258A starting 01/13/2012. - Alpha Sigma Phi is taking initiative early for this very important cause. This term’s focus will be on brainstorming new fundraising ideas, planning our Book Buy Back during the Winter Final Term, and narrowing down our bigger fundraisers for the cause! Honors in Action: Every other Friday from 1-2 pm in PUB 258A starting 01/20/2012 - Announcing the new Honors Study Topic: “The Culture of Competition.” Let’s begin our research on this exciting topic and pursue another successful project. College Project: Every other Monday from 3-4 pm in PUB 257 starting on 01/30/2012. As we start a new year, we begin a new College Project. Clark College President Bob Knight will be attending our membership meeting on Friday, January 27 to discuss his vision for our next College Project. Heavy Helpers: Saturday, February 25 Time and Location TBD - Gather all of your new or gently used stuffed animals for the Vancouver Children’s Center. These stuffed animals will have their stuffing removed and then will be re-stuffed with pea gravel to create Heavy Helpers that help soothe and calm children with special needs. Dr. Suess' Birthday Read Across America: Friday, March 2, 2012 - Read a Dr. Suess book at one of the local elementary schools and/or make a donation for the purchase of a Dr. Suess book to be donated to those schools. Contact Luke Richardson at vpleadership@clarkptk.com to assist with this event.
SOLV Beach Clean Up: Friday, March 23 - Sunday, March 25, 2012 - Join the Alpha Sigma Phi crew for a weekend-long trip to Nehalem Bay, OR to participate in the annual SOLV Beach Clean-up. All food, lodging, and transportation will be provided. We will leave on Friday at approximately 3 pm and return on Sunday by 3 pm. All participants will room with others in a yurt.
